What details can I see on each rental property?

Most rental properties in our database show square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, rent, features, security deposits, layout, and photos.

How many apartments are in your database?

We have over 6 million apartments in our datbase. In addition, this database is growing each day.

How do I do research on an area I am interested in living in?

MyNewPlace provides information on local school profiles (student/teacher ratios, after school programs), city profiles, and city comparisons.

What do I need to look for when doing an apartment walk-through?

When walking an apartment, make sure to look for the following: do the appliances work? how old is the wiring? are the rooms big enough to accomodate your furniture? what are the lease terms? how is the paint in the apartment?

Can I sublet the apartment?

This depends on the apartment rental company. Make sure you ask before signing the lease agreement. Certain leases specifically state that no subletting is allowed.

Is a security deposit required to rent an apartment?

This depends on the rental company. Some rental companies require 1 month's rent as a security deposit prior to move-in. Make sure you ask how security deposits are handled.

Are the utilities included as part of the rent?

Once again, this depends on the rental agreement. Some leases are triple net, some are gross, and some are a combination. You should ask what utilities are included and what the average cost will be.
